Name change

You can apply for a name change at borger.dk.

Once you have applied for a name change, the application will end up at the local church office, where the person with the good title ‘personal registrar’ will assess whether the application fulfils the legal requirements

Please note:
If the name change contravenes the Name Act, the application will be rejected and the fee will not be refunded.

The fee will also not be refunded if you regret your application and wish to withdraw it.

Therefore, check the rules of the Names Act before you apply - and you are also always welcome to contact the church office.
